Elder Apprentice

My faith journey:

I was born in Sarasota, Florida. My dad joined the Navy around this time and after a few years we moved across the country twice. My family ended up in Virginia, so if you asked me where I’m from, I’d probably say Virginia, without the accent.

When I was a teenager my dad was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer before he was 40. I told him I was praying for him, but he said, “God can do anything even heal me, but I’m praying for you.” I remember thinking, how can you pray for me when you’re dying? The way my dad thought of God and knew Him as living and active, helped me see that I needed to trust God like that too. When I was 17 I put my faith in Jesus Christ alone and was baptized one month before my dad died.

I went William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, grew in my faith and was involved in campus ministry. I lived in Africa for 2 years after college. I now work with a global organization and help support the work they do around the world. I moved to Orlando in 2014. In 2018 I married my wife, Calli, who works for the same organization I do. We moved to Saint Cloud in 2021. God has blessed us with two children, Sam and Lydia (2020 and 2022 respectively). I am passionate about sharing the word of God with people who have not heard it before. For the past 3 years Gracepointe has been our church home.
