Joining the Church

Step 1.

Welcome Luncheon

We’re glad you’re here and we want to celebrate your arrival into the community of Grace Pointe Church! We want to get to know you, so we’re holding a luncheon in your honor! The elders and staff hope to see you there!

All ages are welcome and you need not bring anything—just yourself! Lunch will be held immediately following the Sunday morning service in our Fellowship Hall (upstairs).

Step 2.

Grow

If you profess Jesus Christ as Lord, the Bible is explicit: Your next step is to be baptized! (Acts 2:38, 8:36) If you have not been baptized…

The Bible also directs all believers to live and grow in community with one another (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25), so try visiting a few Life Groups and see which one feels like home for you.

To serve others is also a hallmark of biblical Christianity (Galatians 5:13, 1 Peter 4:10). So ask the Lord where it is He wants you to serve.

Step 3.

Commit

We believe part of God’s purpose for His people is that they would commit to partner for the Gospel with other Christians in their local community. Believers who have been baptized are welcomed into partnership at Grace Pointe!

  1. Partners must agree with our statement of faith, church covenant, relational commitments, and constitution. View those documents here:

  2. Complete the partnership application once per adult seeking partnerhsip:

  3. Attend a partnership orientation class.

Once you attend a Welcome Luncheon, you will be provided access to register for a partnership class.

  4. Meet with an elder for a get-to-know-you visit.

Step 4.

Presentation Before the Church as a New Partner

It is beautiful each time our church family grows. When new partners are presented before the church, they publicly promise to:

  1. Abide by the principles, doctrines, promises, and practices in our partnership documents
  2. Joyfully enter into covenant with Grace Pointe Church as one body in Christ

The entire congregation of partners then publicly recommits to living and working together for the Great Commission according to the Word of God. Together, we all recite the following together:

We pledge to watch over one another in love, to pray for each other, to help each other in sickness and distress, to cultivate sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech, to seek God’s help in avoiding anything that might harm our own or another’s faith, to be slow to take offense but always ready for reconciliation and to seek it without delay

We pledge to walk and work together in Christian love, to strive to advance Grace Pointe in knowledge, holiness, and faith, to promote its well-being and spiritual maturity, to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines, to give cheerfully and regularly to support the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel throughout all nations.

We pledge to maintain family and private devotions, to teach our children the Christian truths, to seek the salvation of our family and friends, to walk with discernment in the world, to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, a godly example in our behavior, and zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.

We hope to recite this commitment with you, soon!
